Chas Holt
, PhDChas Holt heads up the ecology team of the consultancy, where he oversees a range of projects, many working with farmers, landowners, and others stakeholders to develop high integrity opportunities for habitat restoration and species recovery. He has worked at Kent Wildlife Trust since September 2021. The team of talented ecologists works across all habitats spanning condition assessment, monitoring strategies, species focused research, and protected species surveys.
Chas brings considerable experience in ecological monitoring across woodland, farmland, wetland and coastal habitats, with specialism in ornithology. His career has included several years in ecological consultancy with focus on conservation-oriented monitoring and research, preceded by 13 years at British Trust for Ornithology as a Research Ecologist and National Coordinator of the UK’s BTO/RSPB/JNCC Wetland Bird Survey (WeBS), and three years studying seabirds and migration at Fair Isle Bird Observatory, Shetland.
