Richard has an honours degree in Ecology and Conservation from Portsmouth University.

Prior to joining the consultancy, he gained 10 years of experience, two of which he worked as a freelance ecologist for consultancies before finding a full-time position where he gained experience specializing in Ecological Appraisals and species-specific surveys, habitat condition assessments and providing ECoW. During this time, he gained a Great Crested Newt (Class 1) Natural England Survey License.

Richard is an experienced ecologist managing a wide range of development projects from pre-planning and post-development monitoring. He has undertaken survey work and monitoring for residential charitable, health commercial and infrastructure projects.

As an ecologist, Richard provides vital support to individual and multi-phased projects, including the collation of field and desk-based data as well as providing ECoW to a variety of different environmental works.
